Frankfurt layover

Had a few hours in Frankfurt so we took the train downtown.

Main Frankfurt Bahnhof (train station) built in the 1890's.

Frankfurt is a modern financial center doing some great things to recapture its charm and history.
In the old center of town they are renovating medeival buildings into modern apartments, attracting young professional back to the city. Something familiar back in the states.

This bridge had engraved padlocks all over it. Story is lovers do this to express their permanent bond with each other.

Frankfurt breakfast: scrambled eggs, cappuccino and an Apple strudel.

There are some beautiful old cathedrals and monuments.

Now, off to Dubrovnik.

  1. Looks great so far!! FB message me if there's anything you want us to bring over, or if you've learned something about the travel arrangements, packing, or weather that we should be aware of.
    Have a wonderful evening!
